Scissor lift dimensions chart (metric): 19ft to 53ft

By the Be Up Hire team · Updated July 2026
The workhorse 19ft electric scissor is 0.79m wide, 1.9m long and 1.98m high stowed, weighs 1,520kg, and works to 7.77m — narrow enough for a standard single doorway. Every size up gets wider, longer and heavier, so measure your tightest access point before you book.

Full dimensions chart (metric)

19ft figures are exact for our fleet. All other figures are typical for the class and vary between makes and models — approximate, verify per machine before you commit to a doorway, lift or trailer.

All non-19ft figures approximate — verify per machine when you book. We run JLG and Haulotte across a fleet of 65+ machines, and dimensions differ slightly between brands.

Will it fit through the doorway?

A standard Australian single door leaf is about 820mm clear. The 19ft at 0.79m wide and 1.98m stowed fits — with millimetres to spare, so remove the door stop if it’s tight. Everything 26ft and up (1.17m+ wide) needs a double door, roller door or open access. Height matters too: the 19ft slips under a 2.1m header; bigger machines usually won’t.

Will it fit in a goods lift?

Two checks: car dimensions and rated load. The 19ft’s 1.9m length and 1,520kg weight ride in many goods lifts and some larger passenger lifts — but confirm the lift’s capacity plate first. From 26ft up, weight (2,600kg+) rules out most lifts, so plan for the machine to work from the level it’s delivered to.

Can I put it on a trailer?

12ft and 19ft scissors can travel on a suitable braked trailer — we hire trailers for $75 with those sizes. Check your tow vehicle’s braked rating against roughly 1,520kg of machine plus the trailer’s own weight. Everything larger goes by truck: our transport is $165 each way (≤50km) for electric scissors and verticals, $180–$240 for rough terrain machines depending on size — see rates.

Which dimensions decide your hire?

If the access is tight but you need more than the 19ft’s 7.77m, the 26ft narrow at 1.17m wide is built exactly for that gap — $150/day on the scissor hire page.

Common questions

What’s the narrowest scissor lift you hire?

The 19ft electric at 0.79m wide. It’s the only machine in the fleet that fits a standard single doorway, which is a big part of why we run 27 of them.

Do these dimensions include the guardrails?

Stowed height is measured with rails up. Many models let you fold the rails to drop under low headers — tell us the clearance and we’ll confirm for the exact machine.

What about the platform extension?

The 19ft’s 0.86m slide-out extension adds usable deck at height but doesn’t change the stowed footprint for access — it retracts for travel.

How much do these machines cost to hire?

19ft $100/day, 26ft and 26ft narrow $150, 32ft $165, 40ft $200, RT machines $200–$350, all ex-GST. Full breakdown in the cost guide.
